With race HQ situated at Moyles Court School (map here) the New Forest Rattler offers the chance to undertake one of two distances: 47 or 79miles, with registration from 7am and first riders away from 8.30. The routes have been designed to encounter as little traffic as possible and offer mixed cycling of long, fast straights, short, sharp hills and a number of longer climbs to test legs from start to finish – all, of course, wrapped up in the New Forest’s unique blend of ancient woodland and scenic charm. The £23 entry fee includes all the usual niceties of a sportive – feed stations, SAG wagon, chip timing – plus pre-event porridge (the ultimate power breakfast) and post-race burger or hot dog from the Rattler BBQ.
