Further details of the line-up for the Early Riser Festival of Cycling and Music, taking place in the New Forest, August 3 and 4, have been released. With more than 40 live acts performing and a host of other distractions – including Pedal-powered discos and cinema shows – plus zorbing, climbing walls and zipwires, it’s almost too easy to forget that a stunning looking sportive is at the heart of matters.
Event organiser Cyclofanatic – the good chaps behind the ever successful Meon Valley Riser and the New Forest Rattler – are hosting the sportive on Saturday August 3, starting at 7.30am and comprising three distances of 48, 76 and 100miles. The routes – planned to give a great mix of cycling, from long, fast straights to punchy hills and longer gradual climbs – take riders up the infamous 25 per cent wall of Blissford Hill but with support vehicles, motorbike outriders, mechanics, support crew and refreshments all on hand throughout, there’s plenty of peace of mind for participants. Back at festival HQ you can even charge your mobile phone using a bike…
The sportive is included in weekend ticket prices; for further details and to keep apace with the ever-expanding line-up of events and performers see earlyriserfestival.co.uk
