Art of the USA Pro Challenge – Stage 1

During the Tour de France we were delighted to bring you daily works of art from Greig Leach, a one-time amateur club bike racer, participating in the DC and Richmond, Virginia areas of the US, who’s also a talented (and successful) artist sponsored by Richeson Art. With the USA Pro Challenge underway, we’re pleased to welcome Greig back with his unique stage-by-stage coverage.

Yesterday’s opener of the USA Pro Challenge – Aspen/Snowmass ,68.2miles with a climb of some 7,780feet – was won by Cannondale’s Peter Sagan in a time of 2:26:00 (best placed Brit: Joe Dombrowski of Team Sky in 35th) but Greig’s favourite artwork of the day shows Craig Lewis getting caught with a mere 5k. The Champion System Pro Cycling Team rider finished the day down in 99th place (2:30:59) despite a stunning series of climbs.

Throughout this week we will be bringing you more of Greig’s USA Pro Challenge highlights. To learn more about his work and for details of his substantial output from this year’s races see greigleach.com and also theartofcycling.blogspot.com
