9pm tonight (Friday November 2) sees the launch of BBC Radio 5 Live’s brand new cycling programme BeSpoke. Presented by Colin Murray the monthly show talks to the key names in cycling about their lives both on and off the bike with the inaugural show featuring double Olympic champ Ed Clancy and Team Pursuit Gold Medalist Jo Rowsell. A regular feature will be the ‘Chopper Challenge’, which sees top pros timed on laps of the Manchester Velodrome riding the classic chopper bike.
Speaking about the show’s launch Jonathan Wall, Acting Controller, BBC Radio 5 live, said, ‘We saw a huge response to the cycling success over the summer and knew we needed to increase our coverage of the sport not just in terms of live commentary, but with magazine shows like this. It will be a great addition to our 5 live sport schedule.’
